Jim Auclair

Embroidery Machine Technician

1993 after successfully completing a 2-year Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Jim was hired by Melco in Denver, CO. as an in-house repair technician.  From 1993 until 1997 Jim learned his trade from Melco’s head technician.  He had the opportunity at any point in time to ask questions of the engineers, and/or the production line supervisors and employees.  He had constant access to the machinery as it was being developed which gave Jim the opportunity to see the whys and hows of the tiniest detail on every machine type Melco made during in tenure.

Jim’s extreme attention to detail grew from rebuilding customer machines that were brought in and working on a large backlog of trade-in inventory.  In 1997 he joined Hirsch as an in-house repair tech due to his ongoing desire to learn the inner workings of other machinery.

In 2001 Jim left Hirsch to start his own company, Fixyourstitch LLC because he saw the need for an embroidery machine technician to service more than one brand of commercial embroidery machine.  He’s been certified with ZSK, Brother, Barudan, and SWF in addition to Tajima and Melco.

In 2004 Jim began to envision a product that would address the lint, adhesives, and debris in embroidery machines and in 2007 Hook Wash became a reality.

Today Jim has 25 years of experience in the industry.  He specializes in full machine rebuilds from the top of the tension assembly to the leveling pads on the floor and everything between in addition to tune-ups and service calls.  Jim works closely with each customer to determine what is needed for their equipment.  He enjoys working with the customer and training them, addressing any questions they may have.  His goal is to make sure not only the equipment is running at its best but that the customer has as much knowledge as possible too.
